Hello!
I’m Raphaella, a hardcore musical theatre and drag fan with a passion for coding. I want to bring you up to speed with a
little bit about me!
During college I studied Health and Social Care with a view to pursuing an Adult Nursing degree. Whilst studying, myself
and two friends founded DreamRole Productions, a sing-through event company, that ran six profitable musical theatre
events over two years, with over 175 participants. Alongside my business and college studies I also achieved a
Grade 8 in Musical Theatre.
My involvement with musical theatre prompted me to pursue a career in theatre production instead of going forward with
the nursing degree. For the next 7 months I got as much production experience as possible whilst working as a
bartender/usher in a theatre. However, I found this work to be very inconsistent and whilst I loved it, I decided to
look for something more structured. Then, I worked as a hotel receptionist while looking for my next role.
For the last year and a half I worked as an administrator in HR and recruitment; I found the structure I was looking for
in this role, but I was missing creativity. I found SheCodes when looking around for coding courses and I was hooked. I
have found my perfect balance between creativity and structure doing front-end web development and I look forward to
where this career will take me.
In my time away from work I still love going to see musicals in the West End and watching drag shows, both live and tv!
Day to day walking my sausage dog Chipolata brings me joy, and post Covid I look forward to resuming my solo travels.
